Family Crest Pole

Yellow Cedar

6” x 48” x 6”

“What an adventure it was finishing this 5 figure yellow cedar totem pole. Made from intense emotion and love. I really pushed myself to learn as much as I possibly could in that amount of time and to study the old Nisga’a style poles. And just like those poles this piece was entirely finished by knife.
Bottom to top: White Grizzly Bear (my house crest representing my mother), 2 Wolf Cubs (my other crest representing my brother and I), Frog and man joined by the tongue (my father and his crest, the frog is a spiritual being and the tongue represent the sharing of that knowledge).”
